New Trendy Drink Tea – Semper Tea – Ciao, ciao cappuccino✨

Bye bye cappuccino! How tea became the new trendy drink

As far as their tea consumption is concerned, the Queen and the East Frisians seem to be real trendsetters. Banned to grandma’s tea room a decade ago, tea is increasingly becoming a trendy drink. After the short ´high´ of the sweet, viscous bubble tea, the calorie-free, healthy original tea is experiencing a continued increase in consumption.

In recent years, for example every German drank about 28 liters of tea a year. A strong number – and still on an upward trend, as figures from Asia (and also East Frisia) show. Here people even drink ten times more tea!

The numbers reflect this situation: More than half of all teas in the US are bought in the supermarket and consumed at home.

The trend has so far only been recognised by the large corporations

It becomes clear that tea is becoming the new trendy drink. The big US corporations have already recognised this movement and offer tea in capsules and as tea-to-go. Elsewhere, the call for the healthy coffee alternative does not seem to have been heard yet. In cafes, salons and studios usually only classics are available, such as black and peppermint tea, while even the smallest barber in the village offers espresso, cappuccino, americano and latte macchiato.

Ride now the early trend wave of tea

Not paying attention to the importance of tea, might mean missed opportunities. We are not just talking about cafes, restaurants or hotels. For the hospitality industry in general, offering a selection of beautifully presented teas is essential. The demand for high-quality tea in modern designs is increasing noticeably.

Even companies outside of the hospitality world can improve their customer service. With a focus on quality, elegance and choice, tea loses its slightly ´boring´ image and can become a real experience for customers and guests.

Tea as a lifestyle product

The tea trend, which is now spilling into Germany, shows quite clearly: tea is much more than the powder bag from the supermarket. On the contrary, it is becoming a true lifestyle product and cannot be ignored in any business which values the well-being of its customers.
When we talk tea, we do not refer to opening a cardboard box containing loose bags of powdered tea. We are talking about a real tea experience. High quality tea, beautifully packaged and presented in appealing designs. Our team at Semper Tea has used its knowledge of tea trends to develop customised tea concepts for your business.

In one of our next blogs we´ll show you how successful Semper Tea is outside of the hospitality industry. Some of our clients describe how they offer Semper Tea to their clients. Be curious!
